Risk Strategies has appointed Jim Schmidt as the Business Line Manager for the company’s operations in the Western region.

In his new role at the national specialist insurance brokerage and risk management company, Schmidt will be responsible for forming a regional strategy within the P&C business unit of Risk Strategies, with a particular focus on revenue growth, customer experience, human strategies and market relationships.

Schmidt previously served as Director of Business Development for Associated Agencies, prior to which he was Director of Business Lines at USI Insurance Services and Vice President at Arthur J. Gallagher.

From his past roles, Schmidt is experienced in a range of exposures, including captives, workers’ compensation, umbrellas and franchises, general and professional liability and the environment.

Risk Strategies also recently appointed Erica Honig as Director of Compliance for Benefits, where she will be responsible for providing support, education and training to the company’s life and health team.

Previously, she served as Head of Global Benefits at the law firm Fragomen and Head of Global Benefits Compliance at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
